With famous lyricist on the jury, Kara DioGuardi, “American Idol” passed its third audition day and has left a lot of lessons to be learned. The judges settled the camp in San Francisco and watched the young and wishful youths who desired to be the next “American Idol.”
Well, maybe not everything went according to plan, but it sure offered good laughs and many competing tips. Simon Cowell was put in his place by new judge, DioGuardi, as he seemed to be a little too anxious to predict the future idol star. Though, the constants weren’t of any help to themselves with the naughty faces they had made, but there has been a great appreciation of the naughty pictures.
DioGuardi, 38, tried 15 years ago to become a rock star. She moved from her native city, New Rochelle, to New York City after she had finished college, but found herself not being too fit for the career she had chosen.
She went from people who were telling her that she was too fat to people who were saying that her nose was too big and the ones who told her she wasn’t black enough or white enough. So she gave up this dream and started writing songs, discovering that she is the best in doing this.
After writing many hit songs for Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera and other singers, DioGuardi accepted to be a part of the “American Idol” jury. Yet, it seems that Tuesday wasn’t enough for her to show everything she is capable of, but there will be sufficient time for this.
Mike Darnell, president of alternative entertainment for Fox, stated that DioGuardi was chosen just a few days before auditions began in August and that they badly needed someone “who would be credible musically.” And she proved she got it.
As the show marched on its latest season, DioGuardi tried to stop herself from making the most mean, yet sincere, affirmations, but couldn’t help of sparring with Britney Spears. Though, it seemed Cowell enjoyed her spirits and he’d better do that, as DioGuardi promised she would do anything to be heard.
DioGuardi is the first addition to the judges of the show, since it started back in 2002. She said that she doesn’t expect everybody to love her once she enters this competition as a judge but that none of them can take her what she had done until now.
Contestant Akilah Askew-Gholston made a fool of herself on Tuesday, starting this “Idol” season, as she had previously searched the internet on how to involve every part of her body in the process of performing. Yet, it seemed that there have been some parts that didn’t even existed, but she insisted on finishing her audition time even if the judges asked to stop about five times.
A promising season and more objective judges is what comes for “American Idol.” Let’s just hope that nobody will get in a fight until the new Idol is chosen.
