Former “American Idol” contestant Clay Aiken is a fresh
father. Music producer Jaymes Foster gave birth on Friday to the 29-year-old singer’s
son, Clay Aiken wrote on his Web site’s blog. “My dear friend, Jaymes, and I
are so excited to announce the birth of Parker Foster Aiken,” he announced.
The baby, Parker Foster Aiken, was born on August 8, at 8:08
a.m., weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19 inches long, according to the
statement on the singer’s Web site. Furthermore, the brand new father added that
the little one was “healthy, happy and as loud as his daddy,” and that Jaymes
Foster, aged 50, was also “doing quite well.”
The news was initially given by Clay Aiken’s mother, Faye,
who told Raleigh television station WRAL that
the child was born in North Carolina
and was dark-haired.
Parker’s mother is the sister of renowned music producer
David Foster and met Clay Aiken while he was an “American Idol” contestant.
Foster’s representative confirmed in May to People magazine that the producer had
been artificially inseminated and that she planned on raising the child
together with Clay Aiken.
Aiken was much loved by fans during the second season of No.
1-rated TV talent show “American Idol”, although he finished the contest on the
second spot, following Ruben Studdard. His 2003 “Measure of a Man” album went
double platinum and he made his Broadway debut in January in the “Monty
Python’s Spamalot” musical.
