“American Idol” Makes Its Way To iTunes

It was bound to happen! As the boundary between TV shows and online entertainment is wearing off, “American Idol” will be one of the hottest, coming-soon features of Apple’s iTunes.

Thanks to a new partnership between Fox and Apple, all the contestant performances from the seventh season of “American Idol” will be available on iTunes.

Each song will cost 99 cents and Apple has also a new treat for all the music fans. The iTunes customers will be able to purchase the full video of Top 12 finalist performances for $1.99, starting March 11.

Of course, if you have a big favorite among the contestants, you can login into your iTunes account and pre-order his/her performance. The video will be downloaded automatically the day after the show airs.

Besides that, iTunes has promised to all “American Idol” fans, and not only, exclusive links from the free streaming performance videos on americanidol.com

“We’ve created a special section on the iTunes Store for ‘Idol’ fans with an incredible array of music and video performances from television’s most popular show,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes.

So, enjoy “American Idol”’s performances on your iPod, iPhone or on your Apple TV!
