Amazon, Google to Unleash the E-Book Revolution

Amazon.com will most likely unveil on Monday a new version of its Kindle reader and with it, its plans to offer Kindle books on cell phones.  This is huge for all people who enjoy literature because Google recently announced that it plans to soon make available the 1.5 million public domain books available on Google Book Search. All those books will be available, free, on cell phones.

The mobile phones will soon outpace the e-book readers, devices which had tremendous success.  The device was introduced about a year ago and since then it spent much of its time in high demand, selling out during holiday season.

The phone that will probably get the best of this e-book revolution will be the iPhone. The reason is simple: it has a huge display and users who like to do almost everything on their iPhone. However, many industry analysts believe Apple Inc. will probably launch a device featuring the iPhone user interface and a super high-quality screen that make it ideal for e-book reading.

The e-books offered by Google will be available on iPhones and the T-Mobile G1. Meanwhile, it is still unclear whether Amazon.com will be offering up all its Kindle titles – about 230,000. A company spokesman only said they are working to make Kindle books available on a range of mobile phones.

Amazon will probably make clear its e-book strategy on Monday when it is expected to launch the Kindle 2. Images of the alleged new device were posted by The Boy Genius Report
