Shantanu Narayen, Adobe’s president and CEO,
introduced today the new Adobe Creative Suite 4. The launch represents the
biggest software release to date for the company, offering six distinct
application sets: Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design editions (standard and
premium), Creative Suite 4 Web editions (standard and premium), Creative Suite
4 Production Premium, and Creative Suite 4 Master Collection.
The president explained that the release is meant to help
designers and developers to fulfill the diverse and changing consumer expectations.
"Designers and developers are shaping the way that people consume
information, share ideas, sell products, tell stories and create memorable
experiences -- in print, online and via mobile handsets," said Mr. Narayen.
"Whether you're creating a rich Internet application, a video or a
best-selling magazine, Adobe Creative Suite 4 delivers powerful cross-media
technologies that have the ability to elevate products, brands and ideas above
the clutter."
CS4 allows users to paint, composite and animate 3D models
at a significantly improved level than its predecessor. It is considered a
great tool with huge potential for numerous activities.
The packs include Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Dreamweaver,
Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks and After Effects. The prices range
from $1,699 to $2,499, with Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium selling for $1,799;
Adobe Creative Suite 4 Web Premium, $1,699; Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production
Premium, $1,699; and the priciest version, the Adobe Creative Suite 4 Master
Collection retailing for $2,499. There will also be available upgrades
