Adobe Systems Inc. introduced this week a new family of
Creative Suite 4 products, aiming at tearing down the walls between designers
and developers and covering all creative processes, from Web, mobile and interactive,
to film and video production.
“Designers and developers are shaping the way that people
consume information, share ideas, sell products, tell stories and create
memorable experiences – in print, online and via mobile handsets,” Shantanu
Narayen, president and chief executive office at Adobe, said in a statement. He
also added that CS4 will deliver “powerful cross-media technologies that have
the ability to elevate products, brands and ideas above the clutter.”
The CS4 family includes six suites of 13 stand-alone
applications, including Photoshop CS4, Photoshop CS4 Extended, InDesign CS4, Illustrator
CS4, Flash Cs4 Professional, Dreamweaver CS4, After Effects CS4, and Adobe
Premiere Pro CS4.
“With the Creative Suit 4 product line we’re enabling
designers to embrace the power and potential of interactive design, moving
their businesses forward through radical workflow enhancements and innovations
that can save time and deliver better results,” said John Laiocono, senior vice
president of Creative Solutions at Adobe.
Adobe CS4 promises to offer more efficiency by making common
tasks easier to complete and by making it easier to switch between mediums
without leaving a project. Adobe promised designers unprecedented creative
control with the new expressive features and visual performance improvements of
Adobe Flash Player 10.
In addition to that, Adobe also comes to the rescue of
professionals who want to collaborate online, by offering them ConnectNow, a
service of Acrobat.com that can be accessed from InDesign CS4, Illustrator CS4,
Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop Extended CS4, Flash CS4 Professional , Dreamweaver CS4, Fireworks CS4, and Acrobat 9
pro.
