Funnyman Adam Sandler and his wife Jackie welcomed their
second daughter earlier this month, the comedian revealed Tuesday.
The baby girl has been named Sunny Madeline. She was born
November 2, a message posted on Adam Sandler’s website, under the heading
“Sandler has another kid,” announces. The message adds, “Everyone is happy and
healthy.”
The 42-year-old comedian and wife Jackie, 34, have another
daughter, Sadie, born in May 2006. The two have been married since June 2003.
The actor announced he was expecting his second baby back in
May, when he was a guest on Jay Leno’s late night show. He told his host Jackie
was three-months pregnant and presenting all the accompanying ‘symptoms’ –
morning sickness was an “all day” activity for the expecting mom.
Sandler, in his typical irreverently humorous fashion shared
with the audience how he appeased both Jackie and Sadie when things got rough –
he said he explained to his 2-year-old that mommy is fine, she is not “bad sick,
she just has something growing in her that’s eventually gonna shoot out her
vagina and take half your toys.”
“She’s better now,” the comedian joked, referring to the
effect of his soothing words.
Sandler then revealed his romantic side, to the delight of
his female fans, confessing that he does rub his wife’s back to help her relax
and tells her things like, “It’s worth it. We’re going to have another
beautiful baby. I love you. Thanks for doing this.”
Adam Sandler starred in “You Don't Mess with the Zohan” earlier this summer,
another of his trademark wacky comedies, alongside Emmanuelle Chriqui, John
Turturro and Talia Shire. Written by Sandler, Judd Apatow and Robert Smigel,
and directed by Dennis Dugan, it opened at No. 2, behind animated film “Kung Fu
Panda,” with a sturdy $38 million on its opening weekend.
He next appears in “Bedtime Stories,” a Walt Disney fantasy
film slated for a Christmas Day release. Directed by Adam Shankman (“Bringing
Down the House,” “Cheaper by the Dozen 2,” “Hairspray”), it also features Keri
Russell, Guy Pearce, Courtney Cox and Lucy Lawless.
