"The O.C" star Adam Brody has been cast as Wally West, a.k.a. The Flash in the upcoming superhero flick "Justice League of America," Los Angeles Times confirmed.
According to the newspaper, Warner Bros. Pictures refused to make any public statements until the casting of all leading roles is complete but "Brody has closed negotiations to play the Flash," in director George Miller's "Justice League of America" movie.
When he began casting for the movie earlier in October, Miller announced that he wanted "actors who can grow in their super-roles."
Known for playing geeky Seth Cohen on "The O.C.," the 27-year-old actor will join Australian supermodel Megan Gale, who was cast as Wonder Woman. Among the other young actors rumored to have been cast is "Wolf Creek's" Teresa Palmer as Talia al Ghul.
A "Justice League" project was rumored for years but it seems that it’s finally making progress. Shooting for the movie is reportedly set to start early next year, but disappointingly for some fans, Brandon Routh who starred in last year’s "Superman Returns" and Christian Bale who played Batman in 2005’s "Batman Begins," won't star in the film.
The Justice League, a fictional DC Universe superhero team, first appeared in 1960. It includes famed savers of the Universe such as Wonder Woman, Flash, Batman, Hawkgirl, Superman and Black Lightning.
