Chinese aspiring actress Bai Ling has been arrested for shoplifting at Los Angeles International Airport yesterday for allegedly stealing $16 worth of goods consisting of two celebrity magazines and a pack of batteries from one of the terminal gift shops.  

According to celebrity gossip website TMZ.com, Ling, who appeared in movies such as “The Crow” and “Red Corner” as well as gracing the June 2005 Playboy magazine cover has been taken into custody Wednesday afternoon and booked on suspicion of shoplifting, Airport  Police spokesman Jim Holcomb said.

The 37-year-old was cooperative “but crying” during the proceedings and she is scheduled to appear in court on March 5.

Before her brief publicity stunt, Ling was busy blogging in the airport terminal.

“Delayed the flight,” she wrote. “wondring [sic] if the chinese [sic] new year ended and people are rushing in the cold wind to work now? Life is a sad song sometime but still sings the beauty for their loved ones,” she added alongside a picture of her in the terminal.

A day after her arrest, the actress didn’t seem too affected by the event as she posted another blog entry wishing her readers a Happy Valentine’s Day.

“It is a beautiful day for lovers, for romance [sic], beauty mystery [sic] dancing in the light of the sexy red wine……hope you are somewhere with your special one who is close to your heart and give you the joy of love…..”
