Vincent D'Onofrio and wife Carin van der Donk, who celebrated ten years of marriage this year, are expecting a baby this winter.
Vincent D’Onofrio, 48, the star of NBC’s detective series “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” will welcome his third child this winter, his representative confirmed exclusively to Peopl.com.
The critically acclaimed actor already has a 7-year-old son, Elias, with his wife, and 15-year-old daughter, Leila, with his former wife, actress Greta Scacchi.
“We're very excited,” the actor told People. He and Carin van der Donk married in 1997.
The Brooklyn native began his film career in the 1980s and was remarked by critics for his role in Stanley Kubrick's 1987 film, “Full Metal Jacket.” He also played Orson Welles in Tim Burton's “Ed Wood,” a farmer possessed by an alien bug in “Men in Black,” and a serial killer analyzed by Jennifer Lopez’s psychologist character in “The Cell.”
His more recent roles include 2005’s independent film “Thumbsucker,” starring Lou Taylor Pucci, Keanu Reeves and Tilda Swinton and 2006’s romantic comedy “The Break Up,” starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn.
Perhaps D’Onofrio is best known for his portrayal of the quirky but brilliant Detective Robert Goren on the NBC television show “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”
The drama series completed six seasons on NBC. New episodes are now on the USA Network. The full cast includes Kathryn Erbe, Chris Noth, Julianne Nicholson, Alicia Witt, and Eric Bogosian.
D’Onofrio has also tried his hand at producing in recent years. He directed, produced and starred in a short film, “Five Minutes, Mr. Welles,” in 2005. He also executive-produced “Steal This Movie,” a 2000 film in which he starred as 1960s counterculture icon Abbie Hoffman.
