Another Hollywood celebrity has joined the DUI club as the "9 1/2 Weeks" star was arrested early Thursday on suspicion of driving under the influence in Miami Beach.
"Mickey Rourke was arrested for DUI at 4 a.m. this morning while riding a green Vespa," Sgt. Bobby Hernandez of the Miami Beach police department was quoted by People as saying.
"He made a U-turn on a red light. We stopped him and gave him a classic road sobriety test. He failed so we brought him in. He blew a .081, which was over the limit, and was locked up for 24 hours at the Miami Dade County jail."
As reported by the Palm Beach Post, the actor had just left a Miami Beach nightclub with an unidentified woman before being pulled over.
Page Two photographer Fred Montana who happened to witness the incident said "They crossed Washington Avenue to go to his scooter. They both got on it, and he did a U-turn to go north. He was pulled over within a block. "The cop says to him: 'You swerved right in front of me.' And Mickey answered, 'No, no, dude, I'm all right.'"
Besides from calling Rourke uncooperative, the police report also wrote that the actor "greeted" the officer asking "What the f**k did I do?"
When the officer noticed he had "a flushed face, bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath," he forced Rourke to take a DUI test which he unsurprisingly failed to perform. Yet, Rourke insisted he was sober.
"I'm not drunk. I didn't even drink that much," he told the officer.
Actually, according to criminal records, Rourke has a history with resisting arrest which got him arrested in 1994.
