Activision has just announced that 2009 will mean new games
in the Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, and Call of Duty franchises.
The gaming company has confirmed that we could expect for
CoD is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The game will see the light of day sometimes
in Fall 2009.
Released in November 2007, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was
the number 1 title in units worldwide for calendar 2007, according to The NPD
Group, Chart Track and The GFK Group. Judging by those numbers, we could expect
a similar success of the sequel of this game.
As for the next game in the Guitar Hero series, Activision
noted that the game is called for the moment Guitar Hero 5.
The fans of Tony Hawk skateboarding series will have to wait
until next October to get their hands on a new game. Activision didn’t reveal
any title or details about this project. The company noted that the game will
be made available for all the gaming console and according to MTV Multiplayer
Blog, the officials said that “You’re not going to be playing this game with a
controller in your hands”. This could be a good hint about some kind of peripheral
device.
The company also confirmed that Bizzare Creations is working
on a racing-oriented “James Bond” game.
Last month, Activision released „Quantum of Solace”
videogame, its first James Bond title. The game was developed by four companies,
Treyarch, Eurocom, Beenox and Vicarious Visions and it is powered by a Call of
Duty 4 game engine.
