Aaron Spelling’s widow purchased a two-story condo atop a Century City residential tower that's still under construction for the staggering amount of $47 million according to her lawyer, The Associated Press reported.
The condominium acquired by Candy Spelling measures 16,500-square-foot and was sold for the record price of $2,848 per square foot. This is a record price for a LA condo unit, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday. The old record of $2,700 was set in February at the same building.
The condominium building called the Century is being built vis-à-vis the Century Plaza Hotel on Avenue of the Stars and will be finalized in late 2009.
The widow of the TV mogul will move in her new home in about a year when the construction is finalized, her attorney Stephen Goldberg said. Candy Spelling actually isn’t at her first acquisition of this sort. She owns the largest home in Los Angeles County - a 56,500 square feet, 123-room mansion that she and her husband nicknamed "The Manor."
The enormous house is situated in the Holmby Hills neighborhood. It has 11 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms and other facilities such as a bowling alley, doll museum and gift-wrapping room. As fore Spelling’s new residence, Related Cos., developer of the Century project, said the condo will have a living room with two working fireplaces, a dining room for 25 guests, a 4,000-square-foot master bedroom suite and a conservatory with a rose garden and also a swimming pool and deck.
The reason why 62-year-old Spelling bought the very expensive condo was her desire to downscale her living space after her husband's death in 2006.
