He had no trouble in portraying a two-faced character in the
summer’s blockbuster, “The Dark Knight” and, thus, Aaron Eckhart will surely do
a nice job as “Battle: Los Angeles” front man. After showing his
action-prone side in the latest Batman film directed by Christopher Nolan, the
40-year-old actor has been attached to star in the upcoming Columbia sci-fi
film, due to be helmed by Jonathan Liebesman (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The
Beginning”), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In spite of the fact that Aaron Eckhart has had several
celebrated performances in movies such as “Erin Brockovich,” “In the Company of
Men” and “Thank You for Smoking,” for which he also received a Golden Globe
nomination for Best Actor, he has lingered in the public eye since he filled
the duplicitous shoes of Harvey Dent in “The Dark Knight,” which has earned
over $997 million worldwide.
Therefore, his role in “Battle:
Los Angeles”
represents Aaron Eckhart’s first part of a leading man in an action flick.
Dealing with a Marine squad’s efforts to suppress an alien
invasion on the streets of Los Angeles,
the film scheduled for a 2010 release will be produced by Neal Moritz, while
the story will be written by Chris Bertolini.
Nevertheless, before Aaron Eckhart shows us his action
skills, the actor will appear in Brandon Camp’s romantic drama “Traveling,”
alongside Jennifer Aniston.
