AT&T's Wi-Fi for iPhone turns out Bad Joke

It seems that somebody wants to pull some pranks over at AT&T and we're not laughing. What is the matter with these people? In a highly unprofessional manner, AT&T has again advertised on its website that it offers free Wi-Fi to iPhone owners, but the company pulled off the announcement and said it was posted in error. How many times did that happen? AT&T folks, this is not funny, it's a downright disaster for you guys, you're getting ridiculous.

Several people reported that the service actually worked for one day. It seems that the highly incompetent people at AT&T actually wanted to launch the service but changed their mind, again. Then they lie that it was posted in error. Hello, how do you explain the actual existence of the service, for a brief period of time?

On the page they deleted, AT&T said it has more than 17,000 Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide. The company counted 12 airports, 31 hotels, 23 universities, 18 convention centers, five sports centers, 8,000 or more restaurants, 700 or more bookstores and more than 50 supermarkets covered by the Wi-Fi network.

In May, similarly, AT&T officially announced free Wi-Fi hotspot access for its iPhone customers, after reports surfaced that the service was already available, then deleted the announcement and said it was a "human error".

The Wi-Fi service at Starbucks was first announced in February this year, when the coffee chain ended a partnership with T-Mobile and started a brand new one with AT&T, promising to offer consumers Wi-Fi connectivity in all the 7,000 Starbucks locations in the U.S.

Meanwhile, Bellevue-based T-Mobile USA Inc. has sued Starbucks Corp. as the coffee chain allegedly breached the contract and allowed AT&T to offer its wireless Internet service inside the stores through T-Mobile’s equipment. T-Mobile is claiming Starbucks has secretly allowed AT&T to provide a free Wi-Fi service in no less than 7,000 U.S. Starbucks stores. According to their deal, T-Mobile had the exclusive right to "sell, market and promote its services" in Starbucks stores until the conversion to the AT&T system would be complete.

Could the ongoing T-Mobile lawsuit be the cause for the botched launch? Why lie then? Ridiculous!
