AT&T Hoping To Grab Some Votes On Election Day With BlackBerry Bold

Americans were given a second choice on Election Day, besides voting for the next president. AT&T decided November 4 would be an ideal date to officially introduce the BlackBerry smartphone to its U.S. stores. The operator is the exclusive provider for RIM’s smartphone, and was excited to introduce “the best BlackBerry smartphone ever.”

In addition to its 3G capabilities, BlackBerry Bold also offers wireless coverage, built-in GPS, as well as a large number of popular applications such as AT&T navigator, Cellular Video, YELLOWPAGES.COM Mobile, XM Radio Mobile and MusicID.

CV (Cellular Video) offers consumers access to thousands of video clips from multiple domains that they can watch directly on their smartphone via streaming video. The AT&T Mobile Music Services  offers access to a large catalog of titles that users can enjoy through XM Radio Mobile.

The smartphone is available for $299.99 in AT&T stores nationwide, or online at www.att.com. The advantage of BlackBerry Bold is that although in the United States it is exclusively available for AT&T customers, it is compatible with over 60 3G networks all over the world. Furthermore, it is the first smartphone to support HSDPA networks around the world.

“The BlackBerry Bold is the best BlackBerry smartphone ever, backed by the nation’s fastest 3G network and the hands-down best international coverage of any carrier,” said Ralph de la Vega, president and chief executive officer of AT&T Mobility.

He also added that the BlackBerry Bold is a complete package, offering customers an “outstanding” mobile experience whether they are browsing the Web, checking their e-mail, watching streaming video or just making a phone call.
