ATI’s New Graphic Card A Threat For Nvidia

Nvidia has been for a couple of good years regarded as the company that manufacturers and designs the best graphics cards out there, and when it was thought that this reign will continue for a great period of time, ATI came and posed a serious threat to Nvidia through its 4870 X2 graphics card.

Nvidia had the leading edge with its 8800 series and the GTX 280 graphics card, and it seemed like it would remain at the top for a long while. Unfortunately for Nvidia, ATI came up with a graphics card that is cheaper and is way better than anything seen before.

ATI’s 4870 X2 graphics card is every gamers’ dream as it has two RV770 graphics processors paired together on one PCB and each GPU supports 1GB of GDDR5 memory, making this card the best on the market today. The sheer power this card delivers is incredible and even if it has been reported that it heats up pretty badly and it’s quite noisy, it worth every penny.

The $500 price tag of the 4870 X2 makes it seem more like a bargain than a state of the art piece of technology. The shockwaves produced by ATI’s new graphics card were so great that Nvidia suffered a great shock and it had to cut prices on its own products, just to keep up.

ATI seems to have conquered the market and ended Nvidia’s reign. What everybody is waiting for is the response Nvidia will give to ATI’s new device, as the battle between these two giants is going to last for a long time.
