AOL Puts You One Click Away From All Your Email Accounts

On Wednesday, AOL launched a new feature that allows users to access multiple email services from one single location. The email aggregation service gives access to Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail accounts, as well as AOL and AIM Mail, and notifies users of all received mail messages.

This will make reading and sending e-mail messages far easier, with users being able to navigate directly to new messages or compose and email message with just one click. AOL’s email aggregation service offers a link for every mail provider, launching a compose message window in an instant.

“With the launch of mail aggregation, AOL will be the first among the big traditional portals to offer a centralized email experience,” said Bill Wilson, executive Vice President of Programming, AOL. He also added that AOL created the service because they wanted to make it easier for users with multiple email services to keep track of their messages.

“This is an important first step in opening up AOL.com and giving users the ability to populate the AOL.com homepage with content and services they use on a daily basis, regardless of where it lives,” Wilson added.

In addition to that, AOL also launched an extended navigation bar with direct access to a variety of content and services, including sites such as TMZ, StyleList, ParentDish, Wallet Pop, Asylum and others.

Furthermore, in the upcoming weeks, AOL will also launch new features for third party content, including a “keyhole” view of social networks that will allow users to manage their social networking feeds from one location, a customizable RSS feed reader, and the ability to add a link to any web page directly to the main navigation bar.
