The American Film Institute revealed on Sunday the official selections of the top ten films of 2007.

The animated Film “Ratatouille,” the final season of “The Sopranos” and the freshman comedy-fantasy series “Pushing Daisies “ numbered among the best works in film and television for this year.

The selections were made by a 13-member jury process in which scholars, industry professionals, critics and AFI trustees come up with Top 10 lists and their reasons behind the selections. There is one jury for film and one for television, which met for two days of discussion and deliberations at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel before making public their selections Sunday.

The official list of the best movies in 2007 include the big movie of the fall “Before The Devil Knows You’Re Dead,” stroke-victim tale,“The Diving Bell And The Butterfly,” road drama “Into The Wild”, which was adored by the Broadcast Film Critics too, the pregnancy comedy, “ Juno,” the raunchy comedy “Knocked Up,” Michael Clayton,” crime tale “No Country For Old Men,” Disney Pixar’s hugely successful “ Ratatouille,” sibling comic drama “The Savages" and Paul Thomas Anderson’s oil saga “There Will Be Blood.”

The AFI also named the ten best television programs of 2007, including the serial killer comedy “Dexter” and high school football saga “Friday Night Lights,” which were present in the list for the second year in a row. The lists also includes “Everybody Hates Chris,” “Longford,” “Mad Men,” “Pushing Daisies,” “The Sopranos,” “Tell Me You Love Me,” “30 Rock” and “Ugly Betty.”

The winners will be honored at January 11th ceremony at the Four Seasons hotel in Los Angeles.
