91-Year-Old Woman Searches for Keys and Gets Stuck Under Car

A lesson for everybody: if you think you have lost your car keys, check your car door first...especially if you are a 91-year-old person. According to The Associated Press, a 91-year-old woman got stuck under her car while she was searching for her car keys. She remained stuck beneath an axle for two days, until the mail carrier announced the police.

Betty Borowski, of the Milwaukee suburb of Greendale, thought she had lost her car keys and crawled under her car to get them. Unfortunately, she got stuck there and police found her on Tuesday, after she had spent 2 days under the car. She was taken to a hospital and her niece Nancy DiMarco said she was still in a critical condition, at the intensive care unit.

Betty Borowski got stuck under the car on June 29 as her head got pinned by the axle, said Greendale Police Chief Rob Dams.

“She was pretty well wedged in there. It looks like she crawled under headfirst,” said Rob Dams, according to The Associated Press.

She got lucky when her mail carrier noticed that she hadn’t been taking her letters. He asked a neighbor if he had seen Borowski and then he called police. Firefighters came and lifted the vehicle, pulling Borrowski out. Apparently, she was dehydrated and confused. Her niece said that the 91-year-old woman could had suffered a minor heart attack while she had been under the car.

The worst thing is that the car keys were in the car door.
