It’s official! 90’s fans, teenage girls who dream of the fab
life and housewives who would watch almost every show on TV have a new reason
to celebrate: the hit TV series “Beverly Hills 90210” has raised from the dead
in the body of a not-so-ingeniously-named spinoff- “90210.”
The series opens
with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, September 2 that will repeat at 7 p.m.
Thursday. Viewers can also catch 24 hours of "Beverly Hills, 90210” on SoapNet.
The whole thing has been creating quite a buzz, ever since
the first rumors of the show appeared, especially due to the three of the
original cast members, on-screen best pals and real life enemies, Brenda, Donna
and Kelly, a.k.a. Shannen Doherty, Tori
Spelling and Jennie Garth.
These three have lived off the fame gained in the popular
TV series and had no other really noticeable performance in the last 8 years
since the show came to an end, but somehow, they still managed to stay in the
public eye with scandals and tattle telling.
The latest one was generated by
Spelling’s new book “sTori Telling” where Tori calls Shannen
"arrogant" and a "bad influence" on the set of “Beverly Hills.” She also
claims Doherty and co-star Jennie Garth had such a bad relationship, they even
engaged in full-on fights, with hair pulling and fists punching and all, which
the two denied.
But of course, as they say, there’s no such thing as bad
publicity and the world’s eyes are on the new class of West Beverly Hills High
School as they face teenage angst in their fancy designer homes, as they pour
their souls out on their personal blog and as they cure their broken hearts
with lavish parties and shopping sprees in Milan.
Apparently, this is what the creators are trying to portray in this yet another
teenage prime time drama: the same problems that Donna, Brandon, Kelly and
Dylan had, but in a whole new world of gadgets and bling.
