Forget about scary mice on the kitchen floor. A 69-year-old central Florida woman has reportedly found an alligator in the room when she probably went to pick up something from her fridge.
Sandra Frosti told authorities that the 8-foot long alligator probably entered the kitchen after pushing through the back porch screen door and then going through an open sliding glass door.
The alligator actually made the “tour of the house” according to Frosti. After entering the house in Oldsmar, north of Tampa, the wild beast went through the living room, down a hall and finally made it into the kitchen to give the old woman a good scare.
The woman called 911 from the phone in her bedroom. She was lucky that the phone wasn’t in the kitchen.
"There's an alligator in my kitchen," Frosti the operator. "It's huge."
At first, the operator wasn’t convinced Frosti was actually telling the truth. So she asked for details about the animal.
"Are you sure it couldn't be like an iguana?" the operator asked.
The alligator was removed from the house by a trapper with Animal Capture of Florida, The Associated Press reported. The animal has suffered a light injury – a cut by a plate that fell to the kitchen floor.
Charles Carpenter, the state-licensed trapper, said that he has never heard of an alligator that big entering a house, according to TBO.com.
No one inside the house – a duplex - suffered any kind of injuries.
