Rock band 3 Doors Down is at No.1 in the Billboard 200, for
the second consecutive time, with their new self-titled album which sold
154,000 copies in the week ended May 25, Nielsen SoundScan reported.
In 2005, their album “Seventeen Days” also occupied the
first position in the top, with 231,000 copies sold.
The band formed in Escatawpa, Mississippi, in 1994, by Brad
Arnold (vocals and drums), Matt Roberts (guitar) and Todd Harrell (bass). The
trio signed to Universal Records after their hit song “Kryptonite.”
So far, all four albums that the band released have been in
the top 10 and have collectively sold 11.4 million copies.
The album of rapper Bun B, one-half of the hip-hop duo UGK,
debuted at No.2 with 98,000. It seems “II Trill” was more successful than “Trill,”
as regards the position in the top, but had less copies sold. “Trill,” the
rapper’s first album, debuted at No.6 in 2005 with 118,000 copies sold.
19-year-old Julianne Hough, “Dancing With The Stars”
champion turned country singer, occupies the third spot in the Billboard top,
with her self-titled album that sold 67,000 copies.
The Frank Sinatra Collection went down two positions to No.4,
with 54,000 copies in its second week.
“Narrow Stairs,” the last album of indie band Death Cab For
Cutie, which was last week’s No.1, fell to No.5 with 53,000.
Rounding up the top 10 were Leona Lewis’ “Spirit” on the 6th
place, Mariah Carey’s “E=MC2” on the 7th place, Duffy’s “Rockferry”
at No.8, Madonna’s “Hard Candy” at No.9 and Neil Diamond’s “Home Before Dark”
at No.10.
