Money can’t make up for the loss of a father and that’s a
fact. However, Heath Ledger’s 2-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose, will benefit
from all of her father’s estate, according to the actor’s father.
Heath Ledger, who impersonated the evil Joker in “The Dark
Knight” blockbuster, died from an accidental prescription drug overdose early
this year, at the age of 28. He hadn’t updated his will after his daughter was
born and, thus, he left all of his money and properties to his parents and
three sisters.
Although some said that Heath Ledger’s ex-girlfriend
Michelle Williams would lodge a claim for the fortune, the late actor’s father,
Kim Ledger, informed the Australian newspaper The Sunday Times that all the
money would go to Matilda Rose and not because Michelle Williams had requested
any of it.
“There is no claim,” the newspaper quoted Kim Ledger as
saying. “Our family has gifted everything to Matilda.”
Heath Ledger’s will was conceived on April 12, 2003, and it
includes possessions and cash of only $118,000, although the actor’s assets are
estimated to be worth more than $16.3 million, according to the newspaper.
Executors of the will would not disclose the full extent of
Heath Ledger’s estate, but it reportedly comprises properties in New York and California,
as well as the actor’s earnings for his roles in films such as “Brokeback Mountain” or “The Dark Knight.”
