Two people had been killed while at least eleven other had suffered injuries as groups of gunmen attacked two separate parties last night in the Los Angeles area.
The first shooting took place late Saturday at a birthday party in Long Beach, according to Sgt. Dina Zapalski, a police representative quoted by the Associated Press. The gunmen apparently crashed the party starting a fight, Zapalski said.
A 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were critically shot, their wounds leading to their death later. Another 17-year-old boy suffered injuries which did not put his life in danger. Police did not make any arrestment.
The second shooting took place early Sunday in Compton, when four of five men showed up at a party and opened fire, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Moore said according to the AP.
Police reported eight people shot during the confrontation, three of them being critically wounded.
No one was immediately arrested and Moore said it was not known if the attack was gang-related.
The police are currently investigating the places of the two incidents. They isolated the locations and the streets nearby, while keeping participants at the party and questioning them for any unusual details they might have seen during the events.
