Popular “Fox” show “24” hasn’t been on the air for about 20 months, after the finale of the 6th season. The plot is centered on Jack Bauer, a government agent. He had worked with Delta Force, LAPD, SWAT, CIA, and has remained employed with the Counter Terrorist Unit. The subject of the show is Jack’s missions with the Counter Terrorist Unit. Jack Bauer is played by Kiefer Sutherland, the son of talented actor Donald Sutherland. Although there are some cases when children don’t inherit their parents’ talents, this isn’t the case with Kiefer Sutherland. Except for the physical similarities, they are both talented actors.

The show has been through a lot, which has hindered its return on air. For instance, the producers have had several arguments regarding the storyline of the show. Moreover, the writer’s strike was also an impediment. Other than that, the lead – Kiefer Sutherland – was imprisoned for a while, which further prevented Jack Bauer from returning to the screens. Also, Joel Surnow, the co-creator of the show, quit the series.

The show is scheduled to return on January 11th, but Fox has a surprise for the fans. They will broadcast a two-hour movie this Sunday, called “24:Redemption”. The movie, except being a stand-alone feature film, is also a transition between seasons 6 and 7. It is also a method to remind fans of the show, as many might not be interested in watching “24” anymore, for a couple of reasons. First of all, 20 months is a long time to be off the air. Secondly, many fans were unhappy with the development of season 6.
