The car market is in decline in the U.S.,
considering the degrading economy and the continuous concern regarding
pollution and global warming. Also, the demand of four-wheel drive SUV’s is
decreasing, as in-city traffic has become more than unbearable.
The market is, however, open for the eco-friendly hybrid
cars and small cars with reduced gas consumption averages. In light of the new
demands, Mazda has revealed the car to meet current expectations: Mazda3. The
small car has already received extremely positive reviews, despite its very
recent unveiling.
It is estimated that Mazda3 will be mass produced and
launched on the market in 2010, thus being preliminarily named 2010 Mazda3. MotorTrend
analyzed Mazda’s new-born, and concurred it had common characteristics of both
a sedan and a sports car, with finely designed headlights and appealing curves
overall. The new Mazda3 is said to weigh a lot less than the current Mazda3
model. This modification will ensure a more pleasurable driving experience and
will make the 2010 Mazda3 extremely fuel and cost-efficient.
Concerning the engine, Mazda officials have revealed that
the car comes with the options so far: 2.0 or 2.5-liter with four cylinders and
also a 2.2 common-rail diesel engine. The latter’s configuration seems to be
destined for the overseas markets. Drive tests conducted with Mazda3 prototypes
also had positive outcomes. Reviewers said it was definitely better than the
current model, more compact and comfortable.
Buyers are eagerly waiting for the release of the new
Mazda3, as it caters to the need of the modern man – conscious of the dangers
of pollution, on the run, in need of quick parking and unwilling to pay immense
amounts on gas, in the midst of an economic crisis. Until then, the car will be
on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
