Naomi Campbell, the renowned British model, was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and has to pay £2,300 worth of fines, as a result of the incident she started on an airplain at Heathrow airport.
The incident happened in late April when the top model was announced by the airplane’s captain that one of her bags could not be loaded onto the aircraft. Campbell lost her temper and started swearing at the captain and demanded him to personally get off the plane and bring her her bag.
When the captain walked away, she reportedly called him a racist. A couple of airport workers specialized in dealing with passengers with this sort of behavior were sent over but they were unable to solve the situation and had to call the police.
When the police arrived the British model refused to leave the plane and had to be handcuffed in order to be evacuated. During the process she swore at the two police officers, spitted and kicked them. The whole incident caused a one hour delay to the flight.
It seems that the reason for Naomi’s rage was that the suitcase contained an Yves Saint Laurent outfit that the model was paid to wear on a show.
Today Campbell pleaded guilty to the accusation in front of the magistrates in Uxbridge. She also said that she feels sorry for what she had done, and that she regrets the incidents. The model will have to pay a compensation of £200 to each of the two police officers as well as £150 to the captain of the flight.
