Four Palestinians were reportedly killed and at least six injured Friday when
missiles hit the building in the two strikes a half-hour apart, the
spokeswoman said, raising the death toll to 11 as six Israeli airstrikes were launhced on Thursday.
Military confirmed that Israeli aircraft launched a double airstrike at a Hamas facility near the Karni commercial crossing with Israel, east of Gaza City.
Seven Palestinians including three children were killed in
Israeli airstrikes on Gaza
Thursday. Late Thursday Israeli air force attacked a militant making rockets in
Gaza City in its fifth airstrike of the day.
The children were killed while riding in their father's car,
when it was struck by a missile, witnesses said. Two of the witnesses were
seriously injured.
The Israeli airstrikes came as a response to the Palestinian
rockets launched Thursday into southern Israel. Over 15 such rockets landed
in southern Israel
Thursday, injuring at least three people. A rocket fired shortly after midnight
hit a synagogue in Sderot, causing damage but no injuries. Since Monday night, they have launched close to 90 rockets at southern Israel, about a third of which have hit Sderot.
The strike came as Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert
approved additional attacks on Gaza
targets, Channel 10 reported. Although Israeli tanks have taken position inside
the Gaza Strip, the military said it is not preparing for an extensive
operation. According to the military, the tanks have moved into the Gaza Strip
for “observation purposes.”
The Israeli-Palestinian truce is quickly disintegrating, as the Hamas has
threatened to respond to the Israeli airstrikes.
"We are ready to send more violent messages" in
addition to the rocket attacks, a Hamas spokesman said.
Israeli F-16 warplanes also attacked a Hamas security compound in central Gaza City
earlier Thursday, retaliating against an escalation in Palestinian rocket fire.
At least one Hamas militant was killed and 32 other people
were injured in the first airstrike on Gaza City
since Israeli and Palestinian officials agreed upon a ceasefire on November 25.
