Famous actor, playwright and director of both stage and screen, Sam Shepard, was pulled over by police in Normal, Illinois at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and was charged with DUI and speeding.
According to police Lt. Mark Kotte, Shepard joined the growing list of celebrity DUIs when he failed a sobriety test after he was stopped for driving 46 mph in a residential zone with a posted speed limit of 30 mph.

Sam Shepard was arrested early on Saturday in central Illinois and was charged with speeding and drunken driving, authorities said.
The 65-year-old actor and playwright told police in Normal, Illinois, that he was just traversing the town and that he stopped at a local before leaving for his hotel.

Police in Normal, Illinois say actor and playwright Sam Shepard has been arrested Saturday at about 2 a.m., on preliminary charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding 15-20 mph above the limit and improper lane usage. "The way he pulled up upon the curb, it appeared he was driving under the influence," Lt. Mark Kotte said. His blood-alcohol level was reportedly twice the 0.085 legal limit for driving.

Police stated to have found 60-year-old Ron Asheton, a guitarist and founding member of the influential rock band The Stooges, dead at his home in Ann Arbor, Michigan, early on Tuesday morning.
According to The Ann Arbor News, Asheton's personal assistant contacted police late Monday after unsuccessfully trying to get a hold of him for days.
