Physical exercise may help improve memory
in older people and delay the onset of dementia, a new study published in the
Journal of the American Medical Association shows.
A University of Western
Australia study has found that walking for 50

Kids born to fathers older than 30 stand a higher chance of developing bipolar disorder, Swedish researchers disclosed on Monday. About 14,500 people with the mental disorder have been compared to an estimated 67,000 people without the condition. After taking into consideration the number of children, maternal age, socioeconomic status and family history of psychotic disorders, researchers found that the children of men older than 55 were 1.37 times more likely to develop bipolar disorder than the children of men aged 20 up to 24 years, said Emma M. In a long-term fight to combat cancer by improving medical treatment, scientists are currently hoping to discover the cure by means of mapping it. In an attempt to prove the presumption may be part of reality, researchers use powerful gene-sequencing machines in order to find which genetic changes trigger which form of cancer. Their aim is to provide distinguished treatment to people suffering from the disease, based on their distinct tumor profiles, because "if you have 100 patients, you have 100 different diseases," said Dr. Bert Vogelstein of Johns Hopkins University in...

According to the findings of a current study, the suicide rate among American teens was lower in 2005. Except 2004, when researchers observed an 18% increase, the suicide rate among U.S. adolescents had been falling constantly over the previous 10 years. The 2004 increase was regarded by specialists as an anomaly and was mainly caused by a governmental warning about antidepressant. The warning made numerous patients stop taking the pills and this led to more suicides that year. In 2003, widespread ad campaigns linked antidepressants, such as Prozac and Zoloft, to suicidal thoughts in...

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2007 National Immunization
Survey, which tracks vaccination rates for children between the ages of 19 and
35 months, found that 77.4 percent of children have been fully vaccinated with
