Boy-band teenage heartthrobs Jonas Brothers marked the
third-biggest opening week of the year, landing atop The Billboard 200 with
their first No. 1 album, “A Little Bit Longer,” which sold 525,000 copies in
the U.S.
for the week ended August 17, according to figures released by Nielsen
SoundScan on Wednesday.
The album achieved the third-highest sales figure of this
year, following Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III,” with 1,006,000 copies, and
Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends,” with 721,000 copies.

On Saturday, properties such as electronics have been stolen
from a van that was being used by two celebs from the popular TV show “Dancing
With the Stars.”
Roseville
police are investigating the theft of the items, which belonged to Mark Ballas,
Derek Hough and their band. At the time the robbery took place - between 4.30
and 5.30 p.m. - the two dancers were in the Twin Cities, with Kristi Yamaguchi,
an American figure skater and the 1992 Olympic winner in women's singles.

Wal-Mart announced that the latest album of the legendary rock band AC/DC will be available only in its stores. People will be able to buy the CD starting with October 20, 2008, but pre-orders will be accepted starting with Monday. Wal-Mart will also sell the band's latest DVD, entitled “No Bull Directors Cut.” The latest AC/DC album comes after 8 years since their last one and is called “Black Ice.” The first single from the album, called “Rock 'n' Roll Train” will debut next week. LeRoi Moore, sax player for Dave Matthews Band, died Tuesday
due to complications from injuries he suffered in an ATV accident at the end of
July.
The accident happened on June 30, when Moore crashed his ATV
on his farm outside Charlottesville, Va. The 46-year-old singer was
hospitalized, but he was soon discharged and returned to his home in Los
Angeles to begin physical therapy. Unfortunately, due to complications on July
17, he was forced to go to the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, where he
died yesterday.
