There are a number of programs out there which are used to
rip DVDs. The technology is not new, and the principle is simple: you copy the
DVD to your hard disk, and watch it without requiring the original disk.
However this practice has always been a little shady as far as the law is
concerned. Advocates argue that it allows them to backup their movies and spare
the original discs some wear-and-tear, while others – record companies mostly –

AMD, Advanced Micro Devices, announced on Tuesday that it
will split in two companies as designing and manufacturing their products is
becoming a more and more difficult job to pull off. The new companies will take
care of designing and manufacturing separately. AMD cut a deal with ATIC, which
is going to invest up to $6 billion in AMD products in the following 5 years,
the deal allowing Advanced Micro Devices to focus more on designing better and
more powerful microprocessors.

In a new effort to convert into real dollars the huge
traffic of YouTube, Google is trying a new trick. Starting today, YouTube will
have a new system of ads through which the users who are watching a music video
will be able to buy the song from Amazon or iTunes.
Of course, Amazon and Apple’s iTunes will share the earning
with the largest video-sharing site.
According to Reuters, YouTube is planning to extend the ad
