Wednesday, scientists at the European Organization for Nuclear Research
(CERN) laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland,
will be switching on the Large Hadron Collider, which is a particle accelerator
that will send beams of protons around a
17-mile underground ring. The LHC, which cost $6 billion, is aimed at recreating

Microsoft announced that the company’s low-end model of Xbox
360 will be subject to a price cut from $279 to $199, this rendering it the
cheapest of the new generation of consoles.
This is not the first time the company has made such a move. Last year, the
Xbox consoles’ prices were decreased in order to enable the expansion of the

With just one day since Google Chrome opened its tabs to the
world, the new browser is causing a momentum among users, experts, journalists –
pretty much anyone using the Web really. Why? The answer is very simple: the

Ingersoll-Rand Co.'s Schlage unit introduced some door locks
that can be wirelessly set or opened via the Internet, from a mobile phone or a
computer. The invention was unveiled at the CEDIA Expo in Denver, Colorado
this week.
The new LiNK system can also be accessed remotely in order
to apply fully-automated user control.
The locks are battery operated and can be opened with a
standard key or four digit passwords. The locks can see who opens and closes

Sony VAIO owners should be on high alert, as the electronics
maker announced significant product recalls due to overheating problems at the
laptops’ wiring system. The issue is said to affect the VGN-TZ100 series,
VGN-TZ200 series, VGN-TZ300 series and VGN-TZ2000 series models, and customers
have been notified to check their laptops for any potential problems.
