The advertising deal between Yahoo and Google had to be put on hold until the Justice Department completes the investigation regarding an allegedly antitrust aspect of the deal. The delay should take no longer than a month, although an exact date has not been confirmed. Both companies involved have agreed to continue discussions with the Department of Justice.
"The companies have agreed to a brief delay in implementing this
agreement to continue our ongoing discussions with the Department of
Justice," Google said in a statement.

After it was discovered that train engineer Robert Sanchez, who was
driving a Metrolink train that crashed into a Union Pacific train head
on killing 25 people last month, was texting on his cell phone seconds
before the crash, Federal regulators issued an emergency order on
Thursday banning the use of all cell phones and electronic devices by
rail workers while on the job.
Preliminary results from an ongoing investigation into the crash were
released on Wednesday by National Transportation Safety Board
investigators, and they appear to show that Sanchez, who died in the

Amazon has been trying hard to keep the secret about its next-generation Kindle, but it wasn’t long before the rumors started to appear, and now, just a few months later, photos of the new device are all over the Internet. Kindle 2, unlike the previous model, has a plus on the design part, and a relatively new shape, however, it appears that Amazon is not trying to impress its customers with looks this time either. The same old colors, the same old big border, a new keyboard layout, and there’s just little comparison with Sony’s PRS-700. According to the Boy Genius Report, who came up with...

suffering from “a massive heart attack”
The report, which was published on the citizen journalism
section of Time Warner’s CNN, was quickly removed from the site, but not before
the company’s shares fell by more than 10%.
Apple officials repeatedly denied the report. “It’s not
true. There is no truth to the rumor,”company spokeswoman Katie Cotton said.
However, it was the first time since May 2008 that Apple’s
share felt under $100 mark. Later...

The Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) decided not to change the music royalty fees for online sales. Therefore Apple's threat earlier this week to shut down its iTunes service is highly probable to change. That rate now remains set at 9.1 cents per song, or 1.75 per minute for any song lasting longer than 5minutes and 12 seconds. During a 10 month trial that concluded earlier this year, Apple executive Eddy Cue claimed that a rate increase could lead to disaster and that the company "would not continue to operate if it (the iTunes Store) were no longer possible to do so profitably."...
