The advertising deal between Yahoo and Google had to be put on hold until the Justice Department completes the investigation regarding an allegedly antitrust aspect of the deal. The delay should take no longer than a month, although an exact date has not been confirmed. Both companies involved have agreed to continue discussions with the Department of Justice.
"The companies have agreed to a brief delay in implementing this
agreement to continue our ongoing discussions with the Department of
Justice," Google said in a statement.
"We have had discussions with regulators...

Amazon has been trying hard to keep the secret about its next-generation Kindle, but it wasn’t long before the rumors started to appear, and now, just a few months later, photos of the new device are all over the Internet. Kindle 2, unlike the previous model, has a plus on the design part, and a relatively new shape, however, it appears that Amazon is not trying to impress its customers with looks this time either. The same old colors, the same old big border, a new keyboard layout, and there’s just little comparison with Sony’s PRS-700. According to the Boy Genius Report, who came up with...

The Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) decided not to change the music royalty fees for online sales. Therefore Apple's threat earlier this week to shut down its iTunes service is highly probable to change. That rate now remains set at 9.1 cents per song, or 1.75 per minute for any song lasting longer than 5minutes and 12 seconds. During a 10 month trial that concluded earlier this year, Apple executive Eddy Cue claimed that a rate increase could lead to disaster and that the company "would not continue to operate if it (the iTunes Store) were no longer possible to do so profitably."...

Sony unveiled during a press event in New York City on Thursday its third generation Reader Digital Book. Its distinctive features such as a built-in light and a touch-sensitive display make the essential difference between Sony’s new device and Amazon.com Inc.'s competing Kindle reader. The PRS-700 will cost about $400 and joins the PR-505 as another member of the e-ready family. One of the things Sony relied on the fact that people reluctant towards reading eBooks are likely to fall for their device when actually exposed to it. The incredible thing is that Sony's trained 1,000 people that...

Apple Inc is rumored to have come up with a new manufacturing process for MacBooks. The news came via a very well informed blogger - Seth Weintraub of 9to5Mac. The new system was described by the blogger as “totally revolutionary, a game changer.” Apple apparently renounced at its policy to outsource the manufacturing process to Chinese and Taiwanese producers and took control of the process. After a few years to put the new process on tracks, Apple will reportedly use lasers and jets of water to carve the MacBooks out of a brick of aluminum. (Yes you red well!) “Our source is adamant so...
