What wouldn’t presidential candidates do for media hype?
Tough question. What they would surely do, however, is get big bucks out of
their pockets and buy network primetime. At least this is what the Democratic
presidential nominee did.
The Barack Obama campaign will pay NBC and CBS just under $1
million each so as to air the ad-program it will create for the first 30
minutes of primetime on October 29, according to documents released by the two
networks.

Space has no frontiers for people with money. Richard
Garriott, 47, a
computer game developer from Austin, Texas,
will be the sixth tourist in space, as part of a joint venture between Russia's
Federal Space Agency and the U.S.
firm Space Adventures. Garriott says that the whole "fun" will cost
him $30 million. The shuttle, a Russian Soyuz, will be launched October 12 from
the Central Asian spaceport of Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
The previous Soyuzes, one in October of 2007 and one in
April, landed safely, but not before giving the creeps to the passengers....

Next week, Apple is turning its attention to their notebook
line, which has been wanting for a while. The Cupertino, CA
company issued invitations on Thursday to media and analysts for an event to
take place on Tuesday. The invitation, shown to the left, hints that the event
will focus on the Macintosh portable computer line.
It will take place next week, at 10 a.m. PDT in Cupertino. Several select
media personages have been invited to provide live coverage of the event. They

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported on Thursday that only 25 percent of teenagers ages 13 to 17 received the cervical cancer vaccine, Gardasil. Gardasil produced by Merck, hit the market in 2006 and was designed for girls and women aged 9-26 to prevent infections with four strains of the human papillomavirus, or HPV, which causes cervical cancer and most genital warts. matter you’re doing brisk walks, running on a treadmill, bicycling, doing yard

Health and Human Services made public this week.
