The NBA playoffs were received with such enthusiasm and the
games were so spectacular so far that the event probably did not let anyone
down. Except the teams sent home and their fans, of course.
The Western Division already has three of its contestants,
as the Los Angeles Lakers, the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Hornets
managed to finish their first round series way ahead of schedule. Still
battling for the 4th position are the Houston Rockets and Utah Jazz,
who leads the series with 3 – 2.

The Boston Celtics managed to get their act together and won the series’ game seven against the Atlanta Hawks. The game ended 99 – 65 for Boston, after leading the game from start to finnish. Kevin Garnett scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds, Paul Pierce had 22 points, Rajon Rondo scored 10 and dished 6 assists, Kendrick Perkins also had 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Los Angeles Lakers managed to get to game four against the Denver Nuggets with a minimal amount of stress. The series is now 3 – 0 and there is no sign that there might be enough determination in Denver’s players to turn the stakes around. Yesterday’s game ended 102 – 84 for the Lakers and the first-round playoff series might be Denver’s peak for the 2007 - 2008 season. The Olympic torch has reached
Hong Kong this week, and the pro-Tibetan protests became less felt. The event,
which involved 120 runners, tool place without major incidents, except for some
protesters who were clearly outnumbered by police force and Chinese flag
wearers.
The torch has clearly entered
