Alongside the US-based E3 and the Leipzig Games Convention,
the Tokyo Games show is one of the largest gaming-oriented conventions
worldwide, and the largest one in Asia. This
year’s TGS, the 13th so far, has 209 exhibitors from a total of 14
countries showing off their best. And even though the highest percentage of
games are for portable devices like Nintendo’s DS or mobile phones, big-brand
console makers are not to be outdone either.

Microsoft’s holiday offer will be the same this year: Xbox 360 bundles with free games. The bundles with free games are being shipped to retailers as we speak, according to a report from game weblog Talk Xbox. The Xbox 360 Elite ($399.99) and Xbox 360 Pro ($299.99) will come bundled with copies of LEGO Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda at no extra cost. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 Arcade systems ($199.99) will come with free copies of Sega Superstars Tennis in addition to the already existing compilation. Microsoft announced on Wednesday that Xbox Live users are in for a surprise, as a major update of the system’s interface is due “before Christmas.” The announcement was made during the Tokyo Game Show during which Microsoft revealed some of the new features the new Xbox interface will be capable of. Microsoft’s gaming console, the Xbox 360, is up for updates. The gamins star “made” an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show. Microsoft officials delivered a keynote speech, in which they announced that the software of the console would undergo a series of cardinal changes. The modifications would enhance the gaming experience, the realistic touch and will enable users to navigate more easily through the console’s features.
