Later this week, Electronic Arts Inc. will release Spore, one
of the most anticipated games ever. The game will be released in Europe on
Friday and in North America on Sunday.
The company’s hopes for getting back on the right track are
closely connected to this release, as for the past six quarters it has been

Microsoft is making a new attempt to keep up with its
competitors, Sony and Nintendo, on the Japanese market. The US
company announced a new price for its Xbox 360, which starting next week will
be cheaper than Nintendo Wii.
The Xbox 360 Arcade edition, which comes with no hard drive,
will be priced at 19,800 yen ($180), nearly 30 percent down compared to its
previous price tag.
By comparison, Nintendo Wii, which made a name for itself as
“the cheapest gaming console”, is selling in Japan for 25,000 yen ($230).

Sony is working on improving its gaming sales as of this
fall by introducing the new PlayStation Portable handheld entertainment system to the Japanese
market. The company’s computer entertainment division rolled out the PSP-3000
with advanced high-contrast LCD and a built-in microphone, which will become
available on October 16th for 19,800 yen (including tax), same as the current
PSP.
In addition to that, Sony also announced three upcoming
bundle packs that will include PSP titles: “Mobile Suite Gundam Gundam” from

Sony Computer Entertainment America has made an announcement
Tuesday that the sequel to Resistance, the critically acclaimed PS3 launch
title is due to be released on the 4th of November, just three days before Microsoft’s
Gears of War 2, which many see as a competing franchise.
The title, developed by Insomniac Games, will also be available in the US in a special
Collector’s Edition, priced $79.99 which will feature a number of exclusive
