Best Buy announced that it will start selling the heavily discounted refurbished iPhones at hundreds of stores. The discounted phones come with the usual 2-year contracts and have been checked for flaws and are equipped with the latest software to meet factory standards.
Apparently, the only drawback a refurbished phone could have would be the possible scratches visible on the case. The refurbished 8 GB model will sell for $149 and the 16G model will be available for $249, which is amazing if you think of it. iPhones are by far one of the best selling mobile phones out there, and now they have become more accessible, if you don’t mind the possible scratches.
The refurbished phones are the devices which have been returned in the 30 day trial period, they are in perfect shape and updated with the latest software. By the end of the month, they'll be available at all Best Buy stores that offer AT&T service, which is required for the phone.
It has been a good week for Apple, as they have revealed the new 17 inch MacBook Pro at Macworld and the refurbished iPhone is catching on. The entire idea of selling these used phones is great, offering a great alternative for those not having the money to buy a new iPhone.
The iPhone is currently still one of the best selling smartphones out there, enjoying great media coverage and very smart marketing strategies. Apple is good at a lot of things, but it seems that they are especially good at promoting their products in a very smart manner.
