Santa Claus seems to be very generous this year to Britney Spears’s father.
A Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner gave Jamie Spears on Monday an additional $51,000 in back pay and a raise of $1,200 per month, over and above the $10,000-a-month salary he receives for almost a year to look after his daughter’s finances.
In February 2008, Jamie Spears was granted temporary control of his 27-year-old daughter after she was placed under psychiatric evaluation. That conservatorship, which gives Mr. Spears control over her personal and financial affairs, was made permanent in October.
Britney will begin her new world tour next year. This comes alongside the release of her much expected sixth studio album, "Circus." The album debuted on the Billboard 200 at number one, becoming the singer’s fifth number-one album and gave the No. 1 hit single "Womanizer."
The tour, the first one in five years, will begin in Louisiana and will include 27 cities such as Washington, Los Angeles and Dallas. The tickets will be available for purchase on December 6 and the rehearsing for the tour is due to begin in January.
The Onyx Hotel Tour, which took place in 2004, grossed over $30 million dollars and reached over 600,000 spectators across North America and Europe.
