President-elect Barack Obama is in the news again, although we’re not going to talk about the economic crisis or any other current issue. President-elect Barack Obama was reportedly seen using Microsoft’s Zune at a gym, as Neal Santos wrote in a blog posting.

We know President-elect Obama has a special place for technology and its uses in his administration and future plans, but there’s a big problem with this report in particular.

Why? Because God forbid Obama would ever chose to use any device that is not an Apple device… At least that’s the conclusion after seeing the reaction of Apple fans to Santos’ announcement.

But the story doesn’t end here. In a more recent posting, Santos decided it was time to get things straight.

“I want to correct what I said yesterday about Obama using a Zune I claimed that it was his Zune,” he wrote. “I don’t know for sure that it was his. It could belong to one of the many Secret Service dudes that were at the gym, Michelle, or even one of his daughters.”

Santos went on explaining that he saw Obama pulling out an MP3 player while exercising, which resembled a Zune. However, he said, no matter how sure he may be it was a Zune, there’s always a possibility that he used another device.

So there you have it: the time stood still for a few seconds, just as I read the first words about Obama and his (or not) Zune. Time to move on?
