Youngster Miley Cyrus probably never in a million years thought she would have the opportunity to work alongside legendary actor John Travolta yet here it is, the collaboration has happened.

Teenage pop phenomenon Miley Cyrus, who stormed into the world’s attention as the high school student who turns into a pop superstar by nighttime on Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” children’s series, stars vocally alongside John Travolta in “Bolt,” a computer-animated film from Walt Disney Animation Studios about a dog, a cat and a hamster.

Travolta lends his voice to a cartoon character for the first time, animating Bolt, a white German Shepherd who is the star of a television show. Growing up portraying a canine television superhero, the dog believes he actually has superpowers. He is accidentally shipped to New York City and an adventure ensues as he makes his way across the country back to Hollywood.

Miley Cyrus lends her voice to Penny, Bolt’s owner and co-star in the show. Malcolm McDowell, Diedrich Bader and Greg Germann voice other characters. Directed by Chris Williams and Byron Howard, the film is slated for a Nov. 21 release.

Even though this was Travolta’s first time playing a dog, so to say, he took an immediate liking to his role, confessing to Reuters in an interview that he can relate to dogs, “As a person, I’m probably a dog, I’m big on loyalty.”

While he admits some of the roles he’s undertaken over the years may bear more semblance to a “cool cat” – in films such as “Grease,” “Saturday Night Live” or “Pulp Fiction” - in real life he finds himself to be more of a “cuddler.”

Travolta added he had been offered parts in animated films before but it was only when “Bolt” came up that he found the offer was too good to pass. He also shows off another of his talents – singing, as he duets with Miley Cyrus the film’s musical theme, “I Thought I Lost You.”
