Sylvester Stallone has recently signed on to direct and star into the upcoming action movie, the Expendables. The movie is about a team of mercenaries that are trying to overthrow a South American dictator.

“The Expendables” seems like the standard action movie, packed with spectacular stunts and patriotism and Stallone is definitely the director to go with, as his experience in such movies will prove extremely valuable. Action movies still have their finger on the pulse of the population, as because of the newer technologies, stunt devils can perform even more dangerous and spectacular stunts.

“The Expendables” is said to start filming in February in Costa Rica and Louisiana. The screenplay, written by Sylvester Stallone, doesn’t seem to be bringing anything extremely new to the action movie genre, but on the other hand, what could one expect from an action flick? Deep thoughts or existential revelations? No, a good action movie is high paced and is filled with spectacular, mind blowing stunts and explosions. Staring in the movie is also said to be the man that gave life to The Transporter and who portrayed the British low-life criminal in Snatch, Jason Statham. Jet Li is also in the final negotiations to join the cast of the upcoming “The Expendables”.

Sylvester Stallone, also known as Sly Stallone, is famous for his roles in Rambo and Rocky, movies that have become, in time, American icons. Stallone is known to be a good actor and, also, a great director, being very experienced in this field.
