Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson has been facing an unimaginable tragedy. Both her mother and brother were found shot in their home in Chicago on October 24th. Moreover, her seven-year-old nephew, Julian King, appeared to have been kidnapped. The perpetrator was apprehended, and is the main suspect in the case.
His name is William Balfour, who was reportedly to Jennifer’s sister (also Julian King’s mother). Balfour was on parole after spending seven years in jail for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possession of a stolen vehicle.
According to the neighbors, there had been situations involving domestic violence. The killings are thought to be the result of an on-going tensioned, violent situation that reached a boiling point. Unfortunately, Julian King was not with his mother and was indeed kidnapped. His body was found in an SUV, in Chicago’s West Side. It was assessed that he had died because of multiple gunshot wounds. Both his parents, Greg and Julia King, kept themselves away from the spotlight, except for one public appearance in which they pleaded for their son’s return.
Jennifer Hudson wants as little publicity on the case as possible. Consequently, the memorial service for her relatives will be a private one, where access is conditioned by an invitation. The funeral will take place in Chicago’s South Side, on Monday. The funeral home that will handle the funeral is the Hudson Funeral Home, run by extended relatives of the Hudson family. There will, however, also be a public memorial service where the public can pay their respects to the three victims, Darnell Donerson, Jason Hudson and Julian King.
