Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin is said to appear on Saturday Night Live this weekend, after weeks of speculation regarding her participation on the show.
Sarah Palin has been oh-so-very present on SNL this past
month but not in person. Former head writer and cast member Tina Fey has parodied

The first time around, Fey introduced viewers to her uncanny physical resemblance with the former beauty queen, having mastered Palin’s accent and general demeanor. In that first sketch, soon-to-be former SNL cast member Amy Poehler portrayed Sen. Hillary Rodham.
The duo had great success, since the episode has now become the show’s most watched since 2002, when Al Gore hosted.
A few days later, Palin told Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity that she had watched the skit and thought it “hilarious.” The catch? The TV was on mute. While Palin “didn’t hear a word she [Fey] said,” it appears “the visual (was) spot on” and this amused her to no end.
Fey’s next impersonation of Palin, two weeks later, was once again alongside Poehler, this time disguised as CBS anchor Katie Couric. The two mocked Palin’s interview with Couric earlier that week.
Last Saturday, Fey spoofed the debate between Palin and Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joseph Biden, played by SNL regular Jason Sudeikis, with Queen Latifah portraying debate moderator Gwen Ifill, of PBS. Quite ruthless.
A fourth performance from Fey as Palin has not been confirmed. The Emmy Award winning comedienne has said that should John McCain and his running mate win the Nov. 4 elections, she would not be up for four years of spoofing Palin. In fact, she would rather leave Earth.
Palin’s own participation on SNL has been confirmed though. Larry King broke the news on his show Thursday night, telling guest Bill Maher the big news.
Palin has previously said she would “love” to meet Fey, “imitate her and keep on giving her new material.” But does she really want to give the material live?
