The average wind speed of cyclones increased radically,

The number of weaker storms, however, has not noticeably

strongest storms rose significantly. "Generally the wind speed and how
much power, destructive power, a hurricane has are very well correlated,"

Hurricanes or typhoons, as they are called in the Pacific and Indian oceans, have winds that blow with at least 74 miles per hour. A hurricane's intensity can be diminished by other factors, such as where they form, how close they are to land, El Nino patterns and solar activity.
