Nikki Blonsky’s father, who has been jailed over the past week after being involved in an airport fight in Turks and Caicos, is due in court today.

in what appeared to be a serious brawl at
Blonsky was in the departure lounge and was trying to save
several seats for family members traveling with her, or so the story goes. Also
in that particular airport’s departure lounge was Bianca Golden, a former
contestant on “
Golden reportedly tried to retrieve one of the seats for herself and chaos ensued.
Nikki Blonsky and Bianca Golden, both 19, were arrested on charges of assault with actual bodily harm, while Carl Blonsky was arrested on charges of assault with grievous bodily harm.

The two young women were released on bail, while Carl Blonsky remained in custody pending an Aug. 8 hearing. His bail situation will be addressed today, reports People.com.
The charge of actual bodily harm carries a maximum sentence of two years. Nikki Blonsky was also charged with common assault, which carries a 90-day maximum term.
Nikki Blonsky is due in a Turks and Caicos court in December, per People.
The young actress became a star overnight in 2007 with her portrayal of Tracy Turnblad in “Hairspray,” alongside John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Queen Latifah and Allison Janney.
Her former co-star Brittany Snow told People earlier this week that she had full confidence things would work out for Blonsky, whom she called “one of my really dear friends” and “one of the sweetest girls” she had ever met.
