Filming for Tarantino’s Newest Movie Begins This Fall

"Inglorious Bastards" is Quentin Tarantino’s next movie and Eli Roth, the director of “Hostel”, is among the actors who will star in it. Tarantino’s movie is about World War II and Roth is to play Sergent Donnie Donowitz, a not so normal Nazi enemy, described as a "baseball bat-swinging Nazi hunter".

Rumor has it that Leonardo Di Caprio was eyed for the bad guy’s part, the role of SS Col. Hans Landa, but it seems he changed his mind and decided to give the role to a German actor.

The second rumor is about Brad Pitt, who may star as Aldo Raine, the leader of the band of Jewish U.S. soldiers who are out to get some Nazis killed.

Roth acted for Tarantino before, having played a small role in “Death Proof”, his half of “Grindhouse”.

Filming should begin in autumn so the casting is expected to be finalized soon.

Tarantino's other film credits include "Reservoir Dogs," "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill." This will be the director's sixth major feature.

The filmmaker completed his latest screenplay last week after several years of writing.

"I don't want it to feel like a period film. I want it to feel current. I want it to feel right now. One of the things I have to battle against is 30 years of Nazi-occupation TV movies where we've all seen the big streets and the vintage cars and the Swastikas, and we've just seen that ad nauseum. This is a modern, in-your-face movie. This is not a TV movie period piece," Tarantino said.
